Ajay Jadeja Ready To Coach Pakistan Team

In the recently concluded ICC World Cup, Ajay Jadeja played a key role as a mentor for Afghanistan. Before the 2023 World Cup, Afghanistan had participated in two previous World Cups, winning only one match across both outings. However, in this World Cup, they won four matches, securing the 6th position in the table.

Afghanistan Team Heaps Praise on Ajay Jadeja

Jonathan Trott, who’s currently the head coach of the Afghnistan cricket team, along with the team captain Hashmatullah Shahidi, praised veteran cricketer Ajay Jadeja for playing a significant role in Afghanistan’s World Cup campaign.

Afghanistan defeated previous World Cup champions like England, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. In the remaining matches, they performed well, particularly against Australia, showcasing exceptional gameplay. However, they faced a loss in that match, primarily due to Glen Maxwell’s brilliant innings. However, Afghanistan ended in the 6th position in the points table, securing direct qualification for the Champions Trophy 2024

On the other hand, it has been a very disappointing tournament for Pakistan as they failed to enter the semi-finals. Consequently, after the World Cup, Babar Azam resigned from the post of captain. Additionally, the coaching and support staff for Pakistan have also been changed.

During the sports talk conversation, a question was posed to Jadeja asking if he would consider taking on the post of Pakistan coach. To this, he responded, “I am ready. I shared my learnings with Afghans, and I believe Pakistan was once similar to Afghanistan. You could say anything you wanted to in the face of your teammate.”

Currently, Shan Masood leads the Pakistan team on their tour of Australia, and they are scheduled to play their first test match starting on December 14th.

On the other hand, Afghanistan will tour India in the month of January for a T20 series. Three T20I matches will be played from January 11th to January 17th.
