WPL 2024 Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Captials, Match 1

The opening match of the tournament took place on February 23 between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals. Delhi Capitals batted first and posted a score of 171/5. Chasing a target of 172 in 20 overs, the Mumbai Indians took the match down to the last ball. In the final delivery of the match, with Mumbai Indians needing 5 runs to win, Sajeevan Sajana, facing her first ball of the match, hit a six and helped Mumbai Indians secure a thrilling victory.

WPL 2024 Royal Challengers Bangalore vs UP Warriorz Match 2

The second match of WPL 2024 featured RCB versus UPW. Royal Challengers batted first, scoring 157/6 in their allotted 20 overs. In pursuit of a modest target of 158, UPW initially seemed to be cruising towards victory. At one point, they required 32 runs in the last 24 balls with 6 wickets in hand. However, they were unable to cross the finish line and fell short by 2 runs.

Similar to the first match of the tournament, UPW found themselves needing 5 runs off the last ball. Unfortunately, UP Warriorz could only manage a couple of runs, falling short by 2 runs in their quest for victory.

WPL 2024 Gujrat Giants Bangalore vs UP Warriorz Match 3

The third match featured Gujrat Giants against Mumbai Indians. Gujrat Giants lost wickets at regular intervals, setting a very low target of 127 for the defending champions, Mumbai Indians. Gujrat Giants managed to score 126/9 in 20 overs. Mumbai Indians comfortably chased the target and won the match by 5 wickets with 11 balls to spare. They reached a total of 129/5 in 18.1 overs.

WPL 2024 Delhi Capitals Bangalore vs UP Warriorz Match 4

The fourth match took place on February 26th between UP Warriorz and Delhi Capitals. UPW batted first, managing to score 119/9 in 20 overs, which was less than their first outing against Mumbai Indians. Delhi Capitals successfully achieved the target, scoring 123/1 in 14.3 overs. It was a very disappointing performance for UP Warriorz with both bat and ball. The two losses pushed UPW to the bottom of the table.
